Model 9300 Modular Frequency Distribution System

The Model 9300 is designed for two modes of distribution. One is distribution expansion for the Model 9100 Time and Frequency System, effectively extending its bus structure into the 9300. As many as four 9300s may be connected to a single 9100, with fault/status reporting through the 9100. The other mode is stand-alone distribution. This mode permits operation with customer supplied timing signal inputs either from redundant or non-redundant sources. The Model 9300 has 12, four-channel, hot swappable, module positions providing a maximum of 48 signal outputs. A rear panel plug-in Input Interface Module (IIM) allows a wide variety of input signal and status configurations. Included with the IIM is a Terminator and Fault Logic module (TFL). The TFL provides correct input signal termination, mode set up, and a RS-232/RS-422 fault/status communications port. Both redundant and non-redundant configurations are available.

The main frame is Model 9300-1 and it consists of a metal enclosure containing a passive, connectorized backplane assembly and Input Interface Module (IIM). All functional modules plug into front positions, while interface and power connectors are located on the rear panel. Digital, frequency, and telecom distribution and power supply modules from the 9100 are also utilized in the 9300 and are therefore repeated in each section of this website for easy reference.

Model 8451A Stand-alone Frequency Distribution Unit

The Model 8451A is designed for precise reference frequency signal distribution applications, through a range of 1 MHz - 20 MHz. Highly desirable features for this application include redundancy, very low phase noise, high output to output and input to input isolation, with low harmonic distortion and spurious. Single or redundant inputs, with automatic or manual switchover, and 12 separately buffered outputs. Single or redundant power supplies are also provided. Available as an option is an internal oscillator, either ovenized crystal or rubidium, for standalone reference frequency distribution or to provide a redundant input source for systems when only one frequency input is present. Fault sensing and front panel indications are provided for each input and output channel, as well as power supplies. All fault / status functions are summed together providing one common fault output. Complete monitoring and control is provided with an optional Ethernet interface. Coupled with the Ethernet interface is a variable gain feature that allows remote, overall signal gain setting of the unit.
