RF / Microwave Up/Down Frequency Converters

Frequency converters provide frequency translation of the input signal to a desired output frequency. They support up and down frequency translations with either fixed local oscillators (block converters), or tuneable local oscillators (agile converters). TRAK’s converter designs support frequency bands from 0.1 to 40 GHz.

Agile and Block Converters

TRAK’s frequency block upconverters, and block downconverters support satellite communications, data links, point to point radio links,  and radar applications. Block converters typically provide the lowest phase noise for a given band due to the use of a fixed frequency local oscillator.  In systems that integrate these converters there is usually need to provide an additional agile frequency conversion to support narrow band IF requirements. TRAK’s agile frequency converters can provide the complete frequency up conversion or down conversion  such that a wide band input frequency range  can be converted to a narrow band IF, or that a narrow band or pulsed IF signal can be upconverter to a wide range of output frequencies. This may be accomplished with a single frequency conversion, or multiple conversions within the same assembly.
