Network Time Protocol Server With Optical And Wireline Time Reference Interfaces

TRAK Microwave, a Smiths Interconnect brand, has announced the addition of the Stratum 1 Network Time Server to its wide range of product offerings.

The 8461 NTP Server from TRAK helps provide a critical time synchronization bridge to Isolated Network Domains via an optical IRIG-B DC-level shift or Wireline Modulated IRIG-B link with an on-board OCXO holdover oscillator, for ultra-reliable timing. The 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface provides both configuration and status reporting through a web browser, command line with Telnet, or SSH. The Ethernet port can also be used for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), or an external AC/DC converter can be used for device power. The optical time reference connection uses an ST connector that will operate up to 2000 meters using 62.5/125 μm optical fiber. The Wireline timing interface uses 50 Ohm single-ended BNC RF cable with an input level of 1.0 to 6.0 Vpp, a modulation ratio of 2:1 to 6:1, and operates with time code IRIG-B122 or IRIG-B126.

Designed for defense, SatCom, and wireless applications, this compact device operates from -40oC to +85oC with PoE and -40oC to +85oC with AC/DC power supply. For more information, download a full datasheet on the 8461
